Ozonation
LWT Engineering carries out the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of water ozonation units.
Ozone has a much more pronounced bactericidal effect than chlorine and other reagents for water disinfection, due to the higher oxidative potential. The rate of oxidation reactions is 15-20 times higher than with chlorine. It is very important that ozone does not change the pH of water, introduce foreign substances into the water or produce human-damaging compounds. Ozone is more environmentally friendly than chlorine. Its decay product - oxygen is an important component of raw water, the content of which increases in the process of ozonation. Since the "lifetime" of ozone in water, depending on its temperature, is no less than 1 hour, the residual ozone in water neutralizes biological contamination that may occur when serving it to a consumer. Besides, oxygen in the treated water makes it physiologically complete and the process of drinking as a wellness procedure. It is also interesting that ozone gives water a distinct blue tint, while chlorine, for example, colors water in not a pleasant greenish-yellow color. Ozone also destroys all the smells and tastes of river water. Thus, the effect of ozone is universal: both bacteriological and organoleptic.
The method of ozonizing water for its disinfection became very common in world practice. As a powerful and versatile water treatment agent ozonation is applied to various industries and commercial purposes, such as:
- Industrial water treatment.
- Disinfection of drinking water.
- Disinfection and conservation of bottled water.
- Disinfection of water in swimming pools.
- Waste water treatment.
- Oxidation of flue gases.
